I rang the doorbell. As the door opened they were each standing there to welcome me into their lovely home right there on Venice Florida beach front facing the Gulf of Mexico beautiful blue water.

What a lovely happy retired couple, just a smidgen old fashioned looking. They had called my Century 21 First Realty of Venice office and had ask for me. They wanted me to come to their first floor condo home to list and put it on the market. I was delighted. It would be a pleasure to sell this beach front condominium.

After inviting me to sit down, MR Jennings smiled sweetly as he ask me, ” Flo, is your name Florence?”

I smiled right back at the kindly gentleman and said, “Yes! It is!”

He looked so pleased as he said, “I have a story to tell you about Sister Florence.” and so he began. Here is his story told as he and his lovely wife Rose smiled so warmly.

“Sister Florence died and instead of going to heaven as she expected, she looked around and notice she was in hell instead. This was all wrong. So she got a phone and called St Peter and said, ‘St Peter, this is Sister Florence. I died and I was sent to hell. You have got to get me out of here.’

“St Peter said, ‘Oh, Sister Florence, I am so sorry! And I will get you out of there but it will take a while so please be patient. I will get you out.’ A couple days went by and she was still there so she called again, ‘St Peter, this is Sister Florence I’m still in hell, you must get me out right away, these men are trying to rape me.’ St Peter said, ‘Sister Florence, I am so sorry but it is going to take more time but I will get you out.’

“A couple more days went by and Sister Florence called again and when St Peter answered the phone she said, “Hey
Pete, this is Flo, FORGET IT!!!!!!’ ”

And yes, I listed their home, got a contact for sale, closed on their home and received a commission. They moved to Fort Meyers and continued to keep In touch. Rose wrote telling me when he had passed away, and she continued for some time communicating with me.

This is the last card I received from this lovely lady who had been my friend. I treasure these cards from these delightful people. He had owned a business that sold playground equipment all over the country.

It was my pleasure meeting, working for and remaining friends with this most interesting and delightful couple MR and Mrs Jennings who were both A SURPRISE AND A DELIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
